−概要（TEI J17）

１　TEI とは何か

　テキスト・エンコーディング・イニシアチブ（TEI）は大きな国際的プロジェクトである。これは「コンピュータと人文学」学会（the Association for Computers and the Humanities: ACH）・コンピュータ言語学学会（the Association for Computational Linguistics: ACL）・文学語学コンピューティング学会（the Association for Literary and Linguistic Computing: ALLC）の共催であり、国立人文学基金（the National Endowment for the Humanities）・欧州共同体委員会（the Commission of the European Communities）・アンドルー・Ｗ・メロン財団（the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation）より資金供与を受けている。
