Tokyo around SUMIDAGAWA-River


Here is Tokyo around SUMIDAGAWA-River. Tokyo has mainly 4 big rivers. Edogawa-River, Arakawa-River, Sumidagawa-River, and Tamagawa-River. This introduce the landscape around Sumidagawa-River.

In Sumidagawa-River, we can take a ship. This carries us from "HINODE" landing stage to "ASAKUSA".

hinode.jpegHere is "HINODE" landing stage. It takes about 10 minutes by walk from Hamamatsucho station of Yamanote-line. We can buy a ticket here and take a ship.

ship.jpegThere are many type of ships. In this time, we take this. Here is Tokyo Bay area. It takes about 40 minutes from here to Asakusa.



shop.jpegThis is inside of this ship. We can buy some foods and drinks, and enjoy with drinking coffee for small trip on the river. The ship has two floors. This is the first floor. In the second floor, there are no tables, however, outside scene can be watched through the overtop windows.

hamari.jpegHere is the tail of the ship. We can see Tokyo from the river. In the center of this photo, Tokyo Tower can be seen. On the coast of the river, it is called "HAMA-RIKYU", the famous Japanese garden.

sumida.jpgFirst, we go under the bridge called "KACHIDOKIBASHI". This is a drawbridge and until 1970, it moved when large ships went under the bridge.

nakamise.jpegAfter arriving at ASAKUSA, we get off a ship. Here is called ASAKUSA. There is the famous temple "SENSOUJI". We can go there through the gate called "KAMINARIMON". Inside the gate, we can see many shops called "NAKAMISE". Here is very crowded everyday.
