KISS was planning to headline the upcoming Japanese festival in August
"rockin' on" magazine May 2010 issue features an interview with the representative director of the Japanese promoter, Creativeman.
He mentions about the lineup of the festival titled "Summer Sonic 2010" in Tokyo and Osaka and KISS will headline it. This interview was done on March 13th but the promoter hadn't announced the lineup officially at that moment. They announced the part of the lineup on March 15th and March 23rd but it didn't include KISS.
They have announced about it on their web site (written in Japanese) on March 30th. According to it, KISS canceled this festival for some reasons on March 24th.
If it came true, it was the first case that a Japanese promoter except Udo Artists invited KISS to Japan.
