- Jan Van der
Roost was born on 1 March 1956, in Duffel,
Belgium.
- He is a
composer of versatile talents for brass band,
wind band, symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra,
chorus, etc. His compositions are very popular
and are being performed and recorded in the
world. Because of commissioned work from all over
the world, he will be very busy in compositions
for several years.
- Besides
being a composer, he is teaching at the
Lemmensinstituut ( Lemmens Conservatoire ) that
is his alma mater, and is a conductor of
"Brass Band Midden Brabant" that is
first English style brass band in Belgium.
- His full
name is Jan Frans Jozef Van der Roost.
