This artist's rendering is imaged near the center of Herschel crater, which occupies a large portion of Mimas' leading hemisphere. The near ice formations comprise the central mountains of the crater, with the crater walls visible in the distance. By David Seal (only available electronically).
訳注： ミマスは地球の月と同じように自転周期と公転周期が一致しており、常に同じ半球を土星に向けています。このとき、常に公転方向に面している半球を「進行側半球」、その反対を「追尾側半球」と呼びます。
