'94 Fender Japan Jazz Bass '62

Jaco bass looking fretless. First of all, I wouldn't say that I hate Jaco, but have never been such a big fan of Jaco.

That said, I'd been very much longing for that J-bass sound, and this was my first J-bass, actually. The Jacaranda (Brasilian rosewood) fingerboard had fret wires on them, but I made it a fretless when I got a real '63 Jazz later.

After it was defretted, I needed to lower the string height, then I needed to put the PU away from the strings to avoid too much magnet pull... Then I find that the front PU is too low to rest my thumb on. Then I decided to remove the pickguard, and, you see, now it looks like if it is a Jaco model..... Oops...

Passive, but the PUs were replaced with VooDoo PU ('60s black). Fingerboard is coated with urethane. My main fretless bass so far.
