Software For MSX

Software For Windows

Simple Filer (Old name, Compact Filer)

Note) The file name has been changed from 0.93 because it is the same as the ASCII MSX-C compiler(CF.COM)..

Based on the experience of developing 'AEG' over 30 years ago, and inspired by Mattsun Souken's filer, this is a newly redesigned filer for MSX-DOS(and compatible OS)..
It has a GUI and icons like a window OS, so that as much as possible you can operate it just by looking.
All messages are written in simple English so that it can be used outside of Japan.
You can perform various file operations such as execution, content display, dump display, image display, text editor, copy, rename, delete, start game (32KB or less), and music data playback (MGS/MIDI).
In addition, with MSX0 M5Stack, you can change disk images, switch screen output destinations, adjust brightness, adjust volume, reboot, and perform other operations on the main unit.
In addition to specifying operations using function keys and character keys, you can also use cursor keys, joypad, touchpad, etc.
It uses SCREEN 1.5 so that it can be operated on MSX0 or small screens, and it is widely compatible with a wide range of environments, from the minimal MSX1 (64K)/DOS1 environment to MSX2/2+/turboR and DOS1/DOS2/Nextor/pseudo DOS for MSX.

We welcome your comments, requests, and bug reports.

SRAM Saver

This software is used to save the contents of the SRAM built into some software ROM cartridges for the MSX series to a file.

We welcome your comments, requests, bug reports, and reports of successful preservation of untested software.

-Caution-
Using this software is extremely dangerous.
Normally, you insert a game ROM with the power turned off and then turned on, but if you do so, the game will start and you will not be able to use this software.
For this reason, it is necessary to ''replace the device after turning on the power,'' which is extremely dangerous.
To avoid this, we recommend using an expansion slot with a slot ON/OFF function or a 1 chp MSX compatible machine that allows you to turn the slot ON/OFF with key input.
This software is a beta version currently under development.
Don't cry even if your SRAM data disappears! Please use it only if you have the courage to do so.
The author cannot restore or compensate for lost or damaged disks, files, SRAM data, etc., even if it is due to software defects or operational errors.

AEG

This is a filer for MSX-DOS1, published in MSX-FAN and MSX Magazine, and included in the appendix FD.
Various file operations such as execution, content display, startup editor, copy, and rename can be operated using only the cursor keys, shortcuts, or joystick.

Ver.1.02a, which changed the operation keys for MSX0, was released in about 30 years since the last time,
The current MSX0 doesn't seem to work with self-modifying code, so it didn't work properly.
Please use 1.02 in the "ORG" folder for the actual machine or MSX emulator.
