Datsun Roadsters for 'Marriage on Bridge'

'Shimanami Kaido' (Island's Wave Seaway), a series of long bridges and highways to connect the Honshu and the Shikoku Island over the Inland Sea, was officially opened on May 1, 1999. The merry and crowded celebrating events were reported in TVs and newspapers in Japan.

As one of the events, an event called "Marriage on Bridge", that is public wedding ceremony on the new bridge, was held on April 24, where our Datsun Roadsters played an important role.

Datsun Roadsters escorted five brides from each end of bridge to the center of the bridge where bridegrooms were waiting. At the center of the bridge, the wedding ceremony for ten couple was held. Then, the couples paraded to the wedding reception hall riding the Datsun Roadsters.

Those who escorted the brides and drove the bridge before the official opening were the members of SP/SR Owners Club at Shikoku. This event was televised locally, and it was reported in news programs of national TV networks.
