1998 SROC Spring Meeting

By Manabu Goshima

The 1998 Spring Meeting of SP/SR Owners Club of Japan (SROC) was held at Restaurant "Jiyu-Tei" near the Fuji International Speedway. The owner-chef of the restaurant Mr. Kenji Takahashi, President of SROC, calls his restaurant as a "Western Bistro in a Japanese Countryside".

The Spring Meeting is important for our club to approve the account report of last year and to discuss the activity plan and budget for this year.

As an enthusiast club of Datsun Roadsters, the Spring Meeting is also an important occasion for the members gathered from various region of Japan to exchange opinion on club activities. Needless to say, the garden party after meeting is another joyful moment for the participants.

This time we had a special guest, Mr. Peter Dehmler, from United States, who happened to be in Tokyo for a trip. He had tried to contact local roadster enthusiasts through Internet, as he is especially interested in competition prep and racing in Japan. (He has a G Production 1600 in the States)

Roadsters arrived through the rain storm from the last night.

Special guest from the United States, Peter.

Discussion on the club activities.

Give a toast to the Roasters!

In the afternoon, the sun came back with a refreshing May wind.
Topics were of course on the Roadsters.
