Otari

The 1998 SROC Summer Meeting was held on August 22 and 23 at 'Yamada Ryokan" Inn of Otari Hot Spring in Nagano Prefecture.

In the afternoon of August 22 we gathered at the first check point near the Toyoshina Interchange. After briefing for the long driving to Otari Hot Spring, we started there with a convoy of several roadsters in each group. On our way climbing mountain to the Yamada Ryokan, we stopped at the ski jumping hill used for the Nagano Olympic Game last winter. We arrived at the Inn in the evening.

Relaxing after the exciting run, someone bathed in the hot spring and others talked on the Roadsters with beer jock in a hand. After the dinner, the traditional garage sales were held. Popular were the Roadster T-shirts and stickers which were sent from American enthusiasts with whom I had become acquainted through the Internet. Endless talking on SP/SR roadsters continued until late at night.

Getting up late in the morning, we left the Inn with a convoy of several roadsters in each group to picking blueberry in a farm, to visit an enthusiast of roadsters in Karuizawa or other pleasures.

The dinner became livelier soon.

Summer is short in the mountain prefecture Nagano.
