and "LIBERTADORES-CUP" in South America was held by HOME and AWAY before.

And became the difficult situation to continue to hold the "INTERCONTINELTAL CUP", so
FIFA, UEFA and CONMEBOL decided to hold this game at neutral state, JAPAN.

Match report
Kick-off by Real Madrid !!
After kick-off, Real's defence checked quickly and hardly, and also Vasco constructed
the tight and deep defence-line. Then, Real controled the game at middle-field area !
However, the 1st shoot was released by Vasco's MF, Juninho at 6 min., and Real's Raul
released the middle-shoot as replying. Continuously, Robert Carlos ran along the left
side by unexpected speed and centering. Mijatovic fitted, but over cross-bar ....

13 min., Vasco's Ramon reacted the cleared ball from corner-kick, and released drived
shoot, but Illgner saved finely.

25 min., Robert Carlos who received the pass at left side and released the long shoot
with lower trajectory !!
Vasco' MF, Nasa tried to clear by head .... However, defeated by speed of kicked ball
.... entered to Vasco's Goal. "OWN-GOAL !"

28 min., Real got a chance of direct free-kick from 34 metres at the front of Vasco's
goal. Robert Carlos aimed directly. Vasco's Brasilian international GK, Germano saved
by punching barely. Till halh-time, continued the condition of hung in the balance.
Passes like splay from Seedorf and defence based on the proper expectations by Hierro
were excellent .... Real led 1-0 at half-time.

Second half, Real's defence was no-tendency of break-down.
48 min., Italian International, Panncci released the long-shoot from right side. Next
following 50 min., Mijatovic who received the pass from Panncci sent the centering to
Raul .... little right side.
But 56 min., when Real was going to get the initiative of game, pass from Seedorf was
cut. And Vasco ran-up the left side and centering to Donizete .... rebounded shoot !!
Illgner saved by only right foot, super-miraculously ! However, next, Juninho trapped
the cleared boll from Illgner and took aim the Real's Goal .... SHOOT and GOAL !!
Vasco reached 1-1 !!

Changed the condition, Vasco attacked agressively from its now.
And 64 min., the melee near Real' goal, everybody thought that Vasco got an advantage
.... Hierro cleared.
69 min., Felipe supplied long-pass to Donizete, Real cut, barely, but Felipe dribbled
and into Real's penalty area .... Released the shoot. A little right side.
Real struck back by Mijatovic's rooped-shoot and Savio's head to fit the centering by
Robert Cerlos. This was saved by Germano.
79 min., high-handed dribble by Felipe !! Two defenders were dodged, and released the
shoot !! Could not get the goal.

82 min., all that happened in an instant. Seedorf cut the Vasco's ball, and supply to
Raul at the front-line as pin-pointed ! Raul trapped to right side softly, and dodged
and passed two defenders .... "SHOOT" !!
Real led the game again as 2-1 !!

Vasco threw Guilherme for atacking, but Real threw Jarni to keep the advantage. Still
tight defence of Real Madrid .... Vasco attacked to Real' goal-area. Hierro cleared !
89 min., Savio was changed to Suker, and finished by Real Madrid's lead of 2-1 !

MVP was Raul, but I believe Seedorf or Hierro indeed !! If you read this match-report
you can understand easily !!

Anyway, I was happy to watch good match too !!

Kick-off by Dortmund !!
After kick-off, Cruzeiro controled a game. Peru International, Palacios cut the clear
ball by Dortmund, and released a terrific SHOOT. But Dortmund Keeper, Klos saved it !
Also Dortmund MF, Moller released the free-kick of 25 m. distance to upper-right side
of Goal .... Cruzeiro Keeper, Dida saved !!
Cruzeiro striker Donizete who played at Japan-League, Verdy Kawasaki before, released
the shoot at splendid chance, but Klos saved it by excellent decision !

Dortmund begun to play under thier natural style, and MF, Paulo Sousa would play with
vitality, initiative of the game would be changed from Cruzeiro to Dortmund.
34 min., Swiss International, Chapuisat received the pass from Moller, dribbled along
the left-side and centering ! Zorc run into .... and SHOOT !!
Dortmund lead of 1-0 !!

Cruzeiro attacked intensely after, however, did not break Dortmund' defence. 1st-half
was over 1-0 as Dortmund lead.

After half-time, Cruzeiro tried to supply passes to dual FW, Bebeto and Donizete, but
accuracy of the passes were bad.
65 min., Cruzeiro Head-Coach Nelsinho was thrown Marcelo who is the noteworthy player
into, and tried to get an initiative of game. Also Elivelton released the shoots, but
impossible to get a GOAL !!
In addition, 67 min., Brazilian International, Vitor was sent off due to vicious foul
from backside ! Cruzeiro would be 10 players .... Cruzeiro' attack was only to supply
the passes from long-distnance to Bebeto.

85 min., Paulo Sousa supplied the crossing pass. And Herrlich poured into ....
Dortmund lead of 2-0 !!

The winner was Borussia Dortmund.
RED-CARD for Vitor at second-half influenced to Cruzeiro's system ....
MVP was Moller, however, I think Paolo Sousa indeed ! His marvellous physical ability
helped many dangerous situations, and also to be the starting point of attack. If any
player like him in Japan' International .... mmmmm

Very excellent game ! I did not watch the game like this for long time .... Many stir
at Stadium....
We were impressed with the ability of Dortmund's Italian Head-Coach "Nevio SCALA" who
in structed the style of soccer which was merged German and Italian.

However, Paulo Souza moved to "Inter" of SERIE-A. Also Dortmund could not advanced to
final-round of the Chanpions-League in this year.
