The top of 'OTOHRI' parade is The Warriors Procession.This is reappearing that the army of NAGAO Hayato who ruled TOJYO in 17th century was occupying into TOJYO after the Battle of SEKIGAHARA in 1600.
Many young men in TOJYO town are absent from their work and they take part in this procession with the armor shells.
They are marching on the street according to the sounds of gong, drum, and trumpet shells.
At some points on the way of parade, reappearance of simultaneous fire by gun corps can be seen.
Bangs by gun corps surprise the viewers.
By seeing this Warriors Procession, you can realize how brave the army of NAGAO Hayato was in the battle fields.
After The Warriors Procession, it is followed by The DAIMYO Procession.This is reappearing that the seneschal of Lord ASANO who ruled TOJYO during EDO period traveled together with his vassals in order to join the Lord ASANO's god event.
Every year, the headman of TOJYO Town plays the part of the Load. And beautiful young ladies who have been selected by public appeal play the parts of the princesses.
There is a skit on the way of parade and the humorous lines between the Load and his seneschal make viewers enjoy.
Some owners of stores in this town also play the parts of vassals. The viewers who know them well cheer them up.
The DAIMYO Procession moves slowly according to the break voices of 'SHITANII-SHITANI!'
After the courageous Warriors Procession and the historical DAIMYO Procession, it is followed by The HORO Parade.
Girls or boys in beautiful kimono walk shouldering HOROs.
HORO is a basket which is decorated by beautiful clothes, a Warrior Doll, and flowers of sasanqua.
The origin of HORO was wide long cloth attached to the back of warriors armor in the end of HEIAN period. It was used for avoiding arrows in the battle.
It changed to the basket which was covered by clothes in MUROMACHI period.
The clothes became decorated beautifully in EDO period.
Second half of the HORO Parade is the parade of younger girls and boys carrying small HOROs.
From the small one to the big one, the children in TOJYO carry various HOROs as their growth.
As you see on these photographs, the HORO parade is excellent for the beauty of flowers and the splendor of clothes.
At the last of OTOHRI parade, The HANAWARABEI Procession by little girls in pretty clothes can be seen.Pretty walkings of the little girls with their mothers make the viewers smile.
