Document Window - Document View

The Document view displays the files contained in the selected document.

Note: A default business rule instructs ECC to save older versions of this document as backups until the document is released. Typically, this business rule keeps all files until the document is released and then deletes all files except the most current revision.

Field Descriptions

  1. The document identification number appears in the Document field.

  2. A revision number or letter, depending on your installation, appears in the Revision field.

  3. The Change Person field contains the login of the person who made the last change. ECC considers a change to be a new revision only when something in the document changes, such as importing a new file or launching a file in an application.

  4. The File List supports access to the current files and sub-documents that make up the selected document. The files and sub-documents are arranged by time, with the most recent file first.

  5. You can use the View Buttons along the bottom to show the Review or Where Used View of the Document Window.

Icon Descriptions

Clicking an icon implements its command:

Modify - Implements the Edit/Change command for modifying the contents of the window.

View Document - Implements the File/View command for viewing the document. You can create and save notes with the document.

Launch Application - Implements the File/Launch App command for editing the document in an application.

Close Window - Implements the File/Close command.
