Human Torpedo is not
unfeeling as trees and stones, but it is human being itself that
feels the sorrow.
The ruins of the castle is in the moonlight. Here, the last autumn
has come.
The picture was taken at the ruins of
Takedaoka Castle in Oita prefecture. They visited there on their
holiday.
In the picture were all Kaiten pilots. They all look humane, smiling
cheerfully. (The left person in the front is Sub-lieutenant Kawai)
I must say no one was willing to throw
away the unreplaceable life even for the country (people.)
Even though Kaiten pilots understood what they had to do, their
instinct for survival rejected to accept it... Caught in these
difficulties, Kaiten pilots struggled to find the significance of
their death. It is said that most Kaiten pilots died bravely for the
country (their loved ones.)
